Personal Learning Objectives
What I Hope to Learn in This Class
In this class, I want to better understand how digital tools shape thinking and meaning as creative systems. I’m interested in how new media can move beyond surface level effects and become a way to build complex and intentional work.
I care most about learning how to work with digital processes in a thoughtful and sustained way, while staying aware of authorship, decision-making, and concept. I want to develop a practice where technology supports depth rather than replacing it.
My Top Three Learning Objectives
- To develop depth in digital process. I want to move past quick or intuitive use of digital tools and learn how to work iteratively, making intentional choices over time.
- To understand new media as form, not just tool. I want to explore how technology itself shapes structure, interaction, and meaning, rather than using it only to execute pre-existing ideas.
- To connect personal interests with new media practice. I want to use digital methods to explore themes I already care about, such as memory, nature, identity, and symbolism, and see how new media can expand those ideas.
