Creative Assignment: Digital Collage  

For this project, I treated landscape as a constructed space rather than a natural scene. Instead of mountains or skies, I built a fantastical environment using fragments of art history, architecture, and the human body. These elements form a setting where ideas like knowledge, belief, and mortality interact.

Scale and placement play a key role in defining the landscape. Figures and objects function like landmarks within the space, guiding how the viewer moves through the composition. The orange-red ground acts as an emotional surface rather than a literal one, creating a sense of tension and instability.

Digital collage allowed me to combine images from different time periods and contexts into a single environment. Through this process, I began to see landscape as something internal and cultural, shaped by memory, symbolism, and personal interest, rather than only by geography.
